The Rice Pavilion

The Rice Pavilion

2007

Constructed in Brighton in August 2007, ‘The Rice Pavilion’ was a model of the famous Royal Pavilion with its Indo-Saracenic architectural style. Built inside the Jubilee Library, it was realized in 5 tons of vacuum-packed rice. After being displayed for a number of weeks, the model was dismantled and transferred for consumption by children in Mozambique. Created in collaboration with the Municipality of Brighton and the artists Emilia Telese and Guyan Porter.
